TERMS & CONDITIONS

We pride ourselves on being a friendly approachable business and want our customers to be happy with our service.

Please read our Advisory Document detail below or click here to read the pdf. Our Advisory Document is sent to all our customers prior to ordering.

Please read this document in full before confirming your order. Receipt of 50% deposit will be regarded as acceptance of the terms set out below:

CONFIRMING QUANTITIES

It is important that you or your installer check your measurements carefully. We can provide estimates of quantities of products but these will be based on the measurements which you have supplied. Please provide accurate measurements to ensure the correct quantities of products are ordered. We cannot be responsible for any shortfalls or surpluses.

Please ensure you have allowed enough tiles for cuts and spares. Usually an additional 10% is sufficient but this can vary depending on the format of your chosen tile(s). Due to the delicate nature of transporting natural stone and tiles, some degree of chipping and breakages are to be expected, these can be used for cuts and would be included in the additional 10%. We would advise your installer set the room(s) out and confirm all quantities required, prior to order confirmation. With large format, patterned and mosaic/decorative tiles it may be necessary for you to calculate the exact number of tiles required.

PORCELAIN & CERAMIC TILES

1) VARIATION

Please be aware our tile ranges have a V rating of 1-4, where V4 is a high degree of variation of pattern and, in some cases, shade. Please ensure you are happy with your given tile choice and ask us for guidance on this if necessary. Goods may vary slightly from their images shown online or in brochures. These images are to be used as a guide only and are for illustrative purposes.

Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, large format porcelain tiles may be subject to a ‘bow’ along the length of larger tiles (60cm or larger). This slight bowing which will fall within European Standards, can cause ‘lipping’ between one tile and the next. If you wish to minimise this, tiles should be laid square, or staggered by not more than a third of a tile length, rather than laying brick-bond. This will minimise the effect of the bowing on the finished look.

2) RECTIFIED AND NON-RECTIFIED EDGES

Porcelain tiles have rectified and non-rectified edges. Rectification is a process that affects the edges of a tile so that all the tiles are exactly the same size and can therefore be laid with a minimum grout joint of 2 mm. Non-rectified tiles, on the other hand, are tiles with natural, uneven edges that often require a wider grout joint. Please be aware of this difference and ask us if you are unsure.

3) LARGER FORMAT TILES (60CM OR LARGER)

Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, large format porcelain tiles may be subject to a ‘bow’ along the length of larger tiles (60cm or larger). This slight bowing which will fall within European Standards, can cause ‘lipping’ between one tile and the next. If you wish to minimise this, tiles should be laid square, or staggered by not more than a third of a tile length, rather than laying brick-bond. This will minimise the effect of the bowing on the finished look.

NATURAL STONE TILES

1) VARIATION

Natural stone; by its very nature, every single slab of natural stone is unique and subject to degrees of variation in colour, markings and texture. We advise you to view as much of your chosen tile as possible to ensure you are happy with your choice of stone and are aware of any variations that may naturally occur.

2) SEALING

Please be aware that all natural stones are porous to some degree and should be sealed. Ask us about our specialist range of stone sealants, cleaners and maintenance products. Some stones may be easily scratched and/or be subject to natural pitting/chipping.

RECEIVING DELIVERIES

Deliveries will be made only once cleared funds have been received. Delivery will be made, at the driver’s discretion, to the nearest flat hardstanding of the property, usually kerbside.

Due to the delicate nature of transporting natural stone and tiles, some degree of chipping and breakages are to be expected, these can be used for cuts and would be included in the additional 10% margin added onto your final measurements. The delivery driver cannot be expected to help handle the goods or move them into the property. It is therefore essential to have someone present to receive the order.

Please ensure you check over your tiles upon delivery and report any breakages or discrepancies of a significant degree in writing to us accompanied by photographic evidence by email within 24 hours of receipt.

If one of our suppliers are delivering directly to you and are unable to unload the goods for any reason, re-delivery fees may then apply.

INSTALLATION

nstallation will be regarded as acceptance of the goods received.

Any advice given by us or our staff relating to fixing products and installation is given in good faith but should be used as a general guide only as we have not carried out a survey of the place of installation.

We strongly recommended you use a competent fitter to ensure that the goods are suitable for the environment in which they are to be installed. Your installer should ensure that all bases and surfaces are suitably prepared prior to installation. We are not responsible for the manner of installation of tiles and related products or for any damage that may occur during or arising out of installation.

RETURNS

Any returned stock will be subject to a minimum of 25% re-stocking fee and can also incur a collection fee from our suppliers. Most special order/bespoke items are non refundable, as well as most discontinued or end of line products. Many of our suppliers won’t accept any returns past a 4 week window. Please ask us for terms prior to ordering if you are unsure.

If an order is cancelled that has already been packed by our suppliers, a restocking fee may apply. Small credit card fees may apply if deposit refunds are required.
