The Challenge
The client wanted to add personality and colour to a small family bathroom without overwhelming the space. They needed a design that was practical, durable and full of character while remaining easy to maintain.
Many smaller bathrooms can feel plain or enclosed, so the goal was to introduce visual depth and movement through texture and colour. Our design team proposed the SoTeal Scallops tile, a handcrafted decorative tile that brings energy and light into compact rooms.
Family Bathroom Design and Installation
We began by designing a layout that maximised the visual impact of the scallop tiles while ensuring a practical layout for daily family use. The feature wall became the main focal point, tiled with SoTeal Scallops in a 15.5 x 17 cm format. These unique fish scale shaped tiles are handcrafted using traditional techniques and precious metals to achieve rich, iridescent tones that shift with the light.
Our team supplied and fitted all tiles with precision, paying close attention to pattern alignment and edge finishing to achieve a clean, professional look. The remaining walls and floor were finished in complementary neutral tones to let the scallop feature wall stand out beautifully.
